Issue (reason for calling Plateau): Tinka and John had lost power to lights in half their home and were in desperate need of an electrician in Mona Vale. They also required a range of electrical works including repairs to their pool lights, an LED lighting upgrade in their wine cellar as it was too dark and a faulty sensor light by the front door which required attention. In addition to this, they were concerned about their smoke alarms.
Plateau Electrical carried out rigorous testing and diagnoses, finding that the loss of lighting was the result of a faulty circuit breaker in their old switchboard. Upon further investigation, our electricians also found no safety switches or main earthing and the switchboard panel on the Mona Vale property contained asbestos. The concerns regarding the smoke alarm were also validated when it was discovered that they’d expired many years earlier.
Solution: Plateau Electrical was able to replace the old asbestos panel with a new one, install new safety switches on each circuit, install a new main earth in addition to 2 new interconnected smoke alarms, to ensure the whole house is safe.
Pool lighting also received an upgrade, switched out an old halogen downlight to a brighter, more efficient LED in the wine cellar and finally, supplied and replaced a sensor light at the front door.
Outcome: Tinka and John have their lights back on, every circuit is fully protected and the laundry list of other electrical items were also fixed up while we were there.
